Drifting Changed My Life

Start of the 2017 Drift Season

Well its been a long and cold winter here in British Columbia, Canada

We’ve been itching to get back behind the wheel of the 350z and have added a lot of new goodies to the car over the Winter build season.

Here’s a list of new parts & modifications that the 350z has gotten over the winter.

RYD Motorsports built us a wicked Full Roll Cage, Front and Rear Bash Bars, Seat Mounts & also a Hydro E-Brake and Mounting Plate.   Amazing work and really nice guys to deal with they have some serious fabrication skills for being younger guys. Very happy with their work.

Sparco Seats, Sparco Quick Release Steering Wheel,  RCI 4 Point Harnesses, 5lbs Fire Extinguisher and completely stripped down interior have taken place of the Stock Seats and Interior we had in the 2016 Season.    She is a race car now.

We added a new True Dual Exhaust System to make the car sound better than the quickly thrown together single exit exhaust we had in 2016.

We modified our old Wing with taller stands, custom end plates and aircraft cable supports.

We also picked up some Sponsorships this Season from different Local Businesses.

Fountain Tire
Swinstones Granite
RYD Motorsports
Fortin’s Auto Supply
Cottonwood Auto Glass
Marcom Signs and Graphics
West End Autobody

Thank you guys for your Support and look forward to working together!

The car feels like a true Racecar now! We are very excited for Round 1 of the Evergreen Drift Grassroots Championship and the 2017 Season!  Here some Pictures!

Successful Rookie Year @ 2016 Evergreen Drift Grassroots Championship

So our First year in real Competitive Drifting has come to and end!

The 2016 year at Evergreen Grassroots Championship was a big learning experience and with our new drift car the 350z It was a big change from drifting a lighter and more nimble 240sx!

The First two Rounds of the Championship we were limited by Stock Angle and too low of a ride height causing some unwanted tire rubbing and not enough Suspension Travel.

Before Round #3 we Raised the vehicle about 1.5 inches all around from its daily/street stance ride height it had before.    We also installed some custom Rack Spacers for the Tie Rods and Cut the Bump stops just over half their factory length.

We noticed an instant improvement in how the Vehicle handle while drifting at the fast Evergreen Speedway.    With the more Angle Tandems became alot easier and spin outs almost became non existent.

Round 1, 2 and 3     We Battled our way into the Top 32 Drivers but got taken out in the first Round of Competition.

Round 4 and 5 we really had the 350z Tamed and dialed in!  Both of these Rounds we battled our way up to the Top 8 Drivers.   We got paired up against the Season Champion Brian Girard from DriftHau5 and also a great Driver who took home 1st Place.   Gaelen from the Midnighters.  Both Drivers beat us but we did not hand them the Victory we put down some of the best runs we have all season and made them work for it!

The Final Points from the Season aren’t up yet.  But we Believe we placed 9th out of about 40 Drivers total in the Season.    We are happy with our Placement for our Rookie Year with a new Vehicle.     Next year we are planning a Formula D Spec Roll Cage and some weight reduction in the 350z!!

Evergreen Drift Grassroots Championship Round #2

We hit Evergreen Drift Grassroots Championship Round 2 on July 12th, 2016

This was the Second Event with the new 350z Drift Car.  Shook off the Rust in the morning with some practice runs for about 1.5 hours.   Then we got into Competition in the early afternoon.

We got into the top 32 last event and was doing fairly well in practice so we got into the top 32 again.   We got to watch a round of battles before it was our turn.  We were paired up against Alex Hageman.   On our first run we ran out of Angle coming off the 3/8th Bank and ended up spinning out.  Our next run we competed the course and did well but Scoring a Zero against Alex Hageman and his Consistent driving all day.  He advanced beating us and knocking us out in the Top 32.   Alex Hageman drove great the rest of the day and actually ended up taking First place!!  Congratz to him on his first Podium Finish.

We are planning on installing some Angle Modifications to the 350z before the next Round on July 24th 2016, we are really noticing the 350z has alot less angle than the S13’s and Skyline’s Shelby is used to Drifting.  Hopefully we will finally break into the top 16 or farther next Round.

We also Purchased a 2004 F-150 for a new Tow Rig!   Fountain Tire Chilliwack sold it to us and they have treated her good all its life lots of maintenance.    Big thanks to them aswell for the Sponsorship, Trailer and Fuel to get down to the Event!!
